Are you a dad of a reflux baby, child or children? Feeling tired, frustrated, guilty or helpless? You are not alone.

Reflux Infants Support Association Inc.

The strain of raising a child with gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD) is real and does not just affect mums, it effects dads too.

The RISA DoRKs (Dads of Reflux Kids) facebook group supports both new and more experienced dads to link in with other dads going through similar journeys.

We are aware through our own research that many parents raising children with reflux issues often experience exhaustion through care giving and significant sleep deprivation over a sustained period of time. This often leads to blended feelings of resentment and guilt between partners, ultimately putting a strain on the primary partner relationship.

Reflux survival strategies

Our research suggests that it is mostly mums that access support and education from RISA and other support connections, such as doctors, allied health professionals, and specialists. With this in mind, the DoRKs group aims to provide dads with connection, encouragement, and education as they ride this difficult, yet rewarding journey with their partners.

This group is only open to RISA families so please become a RISA member and let us know that you’d like to join the DoRKs group.
