Welcome to our the Christmas edition of RISA Inc News! And what a year it’s been. We’ve got lots to celebrate this year.
We’ve supported more parents on their reflux journey than ever before with our membership numbers increasing to 320 – a 33% jump in 5 months, a Facebook page which, though it only started in March this year now has over 1,100 ‘likers’ and growing.
We’ve got a new website which is taking lots of email inquiries and our very able contacts are helping more parents get through the worst of it. Our website traffic continues to grow and its information is hopefully reaching more and more families.
We’ve got lots more volunteers – as the organisation grows and helps more people, more parents come out the other side wanting to help someone else. One of the many lovely things about being involved in this organisation is seeing how much people give – not just in time and effort – but in genuine concern for people they’ve never met. On that note, an oversight from our last newsletter where we neglected to include Moniek on our list of dedicated contact callers. Sorry Moniek and thank you!
On the administrative side, we moved the organisation from being associated in Queensland to NSW with the affect of allowing all members who are Australian residents to be able to hold any position on the executive team. A small thing that required a big effort. Thanks to all involved in making the decision.
This edition contains some festive season tips, recipes, a Christmas competition, Christmas freebies and of course a Christmas membership deal! If you know a mummy with a little one who you suspect might need a hand, a gift of RISA membership or our book Reflux Reality – or both – might be the best Christmas present they could possibly receive!
And we’ve got the results of our recent survey, and reports from our travels at recent conferences. Its all been happening at RISA!
We hope you like the new online format of the newsletter. Its a front-runner to a slicker version next year. With luck it will make the bits you want to read more accessible and the bits you’re not sure about, worth a quick flick through. Big thanks to our contributors – Chrissy, Fran, Bianca, Janine and Jess T.
With our very best regards for a healthy, stress-free, happy Christmas.
